Chinese silk giant Guangdong Silk Textile Group will set up a factory in Kenya
According to Business Daily, on Sunday, November 4th, President Xi Jinping met with Kenyan President Kenyatta in Shanghai. The two sides exchanged views on the development of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Guangdong Silk Textile Group Co., Ltd. is one of the largest silk textile enterprises in China and ranks among the top 500 companies in China. The group integrates trade, industry, agriculture, R&D and capital operation. It is understood that Guangdong Silk Textile Group Co., Ltd. will set up a silk processing factory in Athi River on the most prosperous Mombasa Road in Nairobi, Kenya, for the processing of silk products. In addition, Guangdong Silk Textile Group Co., Ltd. will also build a sericulture farm on a total area of 8,237 acres, which will run through the entire silk industry chain, including silk manufacturing, silk weaving and silk trade.

It is understood that the project will create 300,000 jobs directly and indirectly for the Kenyan people, greatly reducing the local employment pressure.
In addition, Kenyatta also delivered a keynote speech at the official opening ceremony of CIIE on Tuesday, November 6, and actively explore the Chinese market at this CIIE Expo and vigorously promote Kenyan agricultural products to promote trade in agricultural products between the two countries.
